FIRST COMBONI MISSIONARY PRIEST FROM THE ARCHDIOCESE OF GULU

 

After almost 100 years of missionary work in Northern Uganda, the first Comboni Missionaries hailing from the Archdiocese of Gulu to be ordained a priest is Rev. Fr. Robert Ochola. Rev. Fr Robert comes from Christ the King Kitgum Town Parish, from Dure Chapel, an outstation of the town parish. Rev. Fr. Robert was ordained on January 20th, 2007 in his home parish by the Archbishop of Gulu, His Grace John Baptist Odama.

The new priest had his minor seminary formation at Sacred Heart Lacor Diocesan Minor Seminary, philosophical studies at the Philosophical Center (Jinja) and had his theological studies in Innsbruck (Austria). Father Robert joins his fellow parishmate Rev. Sister Lily Lam who was also the first Comboni Sister to come from the Archdiocese of Gulu. Rev. Sr. Lily Lam made her profession in 1998 and has served in East Africa and in the Horn of Africa.
